Search Idaho Correction Records

To find someone released from the Idaho Department of Correction, use the statewide correctional record rather than the Elmore County jail roster. IDOC records distinguish prison custody, release into community supervision, and final discharge. The same system also covers active state parole and probation clients. Elmore County has no state prison identified in the official research, so this is not a local facility page. It is the correct Idaho state-prison and community-supervision path for a person whose sentence or transfer entered IDOC jurisdiction.

Idaho Correction Releases

The Idaho Department of Correction operates a statewide prison and community-supervision system. Its public Resident/Client Search covers incarcerated residents, people on IDOC parole or probation, and retained names of former residents or clients who satisfied an IDOC sentence. It does not cover every Elmore County Jail booking or ordinary local bond release.

A person may enter IDOC from the Elmore jail after sentencing or another state-custody decision. That move is a transfer, not community release. Later, prison departure may appear as “In community” with a Released to Supervision date. Final sentence satisfaction appears as “Discharged” with a date. These events may be months or years apart.

Idaho Correction Discharge Records

IDOC retains the names of people who served time and satisfied their sentences, while satisfied conviction details are not displayed in the same way. A “Discharged” line with a date is the durable public end-state for that IDOC sentence. It differs from a court dismissal, county bond release, or federal custody label.

The official discharged record supplied a successful manifest capture.

The captured result demonstrates the discharge label. It should not be used to infer facts that IDOC suppresses after satisfaction.

Release
Departure from physical custody, possibly into supervision.
Supervision
Ongoing correctional control in the community.
Discharge
The later end of sentence jurisdiction.
Transfer
Movement to another custodian while custody continues.

Idaho Correction Date Limits

The public IDOC records examined do not show one universal field literally called Projected Release Date or Tentative Release Date. They show Sentence Satisfaction Date, Parole Eligibility Date, Next Parole Hearing Date, and Released to Supervision. The Commission uses Tentative Parole Date in some decision notices. Each label answers a different question.

Idaho Code 19-2513 creates a unified felony sentence with a judicially fixed minimum followed by an indeterminate part. The fixed minimum must be served before ordinary parole eligibility. Idaho does not use a general 85-percent shortcut for that term. The narrow extraordinary-service mechanism in 20-101D is not routine good-behavior credit.

Date labels are not interchangeable. Eligibility and hearing dates point to possible process. Released to Supervision and Discharged record completed events.

Idaho Parole Decision Versus Departure

The Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole makes parole decisions. IDOC performs community supervision. A Commission Notice of Action Taken may grant, deny, revoke, reinstate, schedule, or continue a matter. A grant is prospective evidence, not proof that the person left prison.

The Commission warns that a stated parole date remains tentative. Required programming, paperwork, and an approved IDOC parole plan must be complete. Confirm actual departure by returning to the Resident/Client Search after the date and looking for “In community” with Released to Supervision. If the record remains “In custody,” consult the next official notice or IDOC.

Elmore County lies in IDOC District 4. The live client detail should identify the assigned office or officer. The Mountain Home satellite serves local state supervision, while Elmore County Justice Services separately handles adult misdemeanor probation. The Elmore post-release supervision page explains that local split.

IDOC Sentencing Records Route

IDOC Sentencing Records reviews judgments, calculates sentences and eligibility, applies jail and retained-jurisdiction credit, processes parole forfeiture, and maintains official sentence data. It cannot change a court sentence. Corrected judgments, credits, consecutive or concurrent terms, parole action, and data corrections can change displayed dates.

Use the IDOC Request for Information or public-record route when a calculation is disputed or a certified history is needed. State the person’s identifiers, the field in question, and the narrow date range. Ask for electronic records and a fee estimate.

Idaho public-record law allows fees in specified circumstances, including work beyond stated thresholds or necessary redaction. Exemptions can protect active investigations, victim or witness identity, future movement, presentence material, and correctional information when safety, security, or rehabilitation interests outweigh disclosure. Ask for segregable public portions rather than assuming the entire file will be released.

Correct Elmore Custody Channel

IDOC should answer only for Idaho correctional jurisdiction. For an ordinary local detention release, use Elmore County Jail, the Sheriff’s release record, VINE, and the court docket. A county jail may appear as an IDOC person’s location without proving community release.

  • IDOC: state prison custody, state parole or probation, and discharge.
  • Elmore County Jail: local booking, bond or court-order release, and transfer record.
  • BOP: federally sentenced prisoner status and federal release date.
  • ICE: current and recent immigration detention records within its stated window.
  • iCourt: legal orders and disposition, not the exact door-exit time.

Idaho VINE interfaces with county booking systems and IDOC. A release alert is event evidence for the selected participating record. A transfer or facility movement is not community release, and VINE is not promised as a permanent historical archive.

About the Idaho Correction System

No separate state prison is located in Elmore County in the official material reviewed. The IDOC entry exists because Elmore residents and cases may enter a statewide prison sentence or state community supervision. It must never be presented as another county jail building.

The physical location in a person’s IDOC record may change. Use the live detail for custody and assignment, then contact the listed institution or supervision office. The general IDOC address is a records and administration contact, not a release gate. For a broader custody search across local, state, federal, and immigration sources, use the Elmore County released inmate search.

Keep the source scope with every conclusion. “Discharged” answers IDOC sentence status. It does not erase a court record or rule out an unrelated case. “In community” answers prison departure and active supervision. It does not mean the sentence is complete.

Preserve the IDOC Record Trail

For a reliable record trail, save the full status line, exact date label, IDOC number, and retrieval date. If the public record later changes, those details help IDOC locate the right sentence or supervision event. Avoid reducing the result to the single word “released.” State whether the person left prison for supervision, completed the sentence, transferred while still in custody, or remained in custody on the date checked.

Court records can add legal context. Search Idaho iCourt in “Last, First” order, compare the case number and location, and read the register of actions in sequence. A judgment, probation order, or satisfaction entry may explain the correctional record, but a court entry does not replace IDOC’s custody status. No iCourt result also does not prove that no IDOC record exists. Spelling, older case formatting, restricted access, or a different jurisdiction may explain the gap.
