Elmore County Release Meanings
Release is not one event with one result. A person may leave Elmore County Jail on bond, after time served, after dismissal, or under a court order. Another departure may be a transfer to the Idaho Department of Correction, another county, the United States Marshals Service, or Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Only the first group necessarily goes into the community. The agency record should say which custody ended and what followed.
State records use more precise terms. Parole is conditional release from prison under an Idaho sentence. Probation is community supervision ordered by a court and does not always follow prison. IDOC uses “In community” for an active client outside prison and “Discharged” after sentence satisfaction. A transfer remains custody. These labels should never be treated as synonyms.

Elmore County Release Paths
The departure type controls where a useful record appears. A judge's order is legal authority, but the jail event proves staff completed processing. Bond means release while the case continues, not a dismissal. An IDOC transfer moves the person into state custody. Federal and immigration transfers must be checked in their own systems.

When Elmore County Releases Happen
The official jail instructions give a local process, not a fixed clock. Detention staff starts release processing after posted-bond paperwork or a court release order reaches the jail. The county warns that the work can take considerable time. A signed order may therefore precede the physical exit.
Released people meet the bonding party in the jail lobby. The jail publishes no daily release hour, weekend cutoff, or guaranteed duration. Call 208-587-9103 for a present, scope-limited check. Ask whether the person remains in Elmore custody and whether staff can identify the right release or transfer channel.
Elmore County Bond Release Steps
Elmore County lists three bond routes: a bond agent, cash for the full bond in exact change, or Allpaid. The jail also charges a separate $10 Sheriff's bond fee in exact change because detention staff does not keep change. Cash bond is appearance collateral. It is not a finding that charges ended, and the county notes that funds may later be applied to costs or fines under Idaho Code 19-2923.
Processing begins after the paperwork arrives. That fact matters when someone has been told a bond was paid but has not reached the lobby. Confirm receipt with the jail and allow for any other hold. Do not infer a failed release from delay alone.
Elmore County Release Record Fields
A focused release record answers who was held, what custody ended, when it ended, and where the person went. The county has no working public archive that exposes a verified field set, so request the specific items needed. Asking for a destination is vital because it separates community release from transfer.

iCourt adds the legal chronology. It may show a release order, bond entry, dismissal, judgment, sentence, probation, or satisfaction. It does not supply the exact door-exit time, and dismissal of one case does not rule out another hold.
Request Elmore County Release Records
Use the Sheriff's records request form for a historical local release. The Records Office is at 2255 East 8th North, Mountain Home, ID 83647. It can be reached at 208-587-3370 extension 1033, by fax at 208-587-2118, or at elmoresheriff@elmorecounty.org. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Identify the person, aliases, and approximate booking and release dates.
- Ask for the booking and release record, actual release time, authority, and destination.
- Request the booking photograph separately if it is needed for identification.
- Choose inspection or copies and ask for an electronic copy and fee estimate.
- If material is withheld, request the statutory basis and any segregable public part.
Charges may apply after 100 paper pages, more than two labor hours, or work that needs redaction. Idaho residents ordinarily receive a grant or denial within three working days, with written notice and production by ten working days when more time is needed. Under current Idaho Code 74-103, the corresponding nonresident periods are 21 and 35 days. A narrow request reduces cost and mistaken identity.
Elmore County Record Access Rules
Idaho Code 74-102 governs inspection, copies, and core fee rules. Section 74-105 protects specified active investigative material, victim or witness identity, future prisoner movement, and correctional records when disclosure would harm safety, security, or rehabilitation. A custodian should separate public and exempt material where feasible. Court files follow Idaho Court Administrative Rule 32 instead.
Idaho's adult Clean Slate process is shielding, not destruction. An eligible petition generally cannot begin until five years after every sentence part, including parole, probation, fines, and restitution, is complete. A shielded public case can disappear from iCourt while official nonpublic records remain. No search result may also reflect spelling, search syntax, or no case, so it never proves that no custody occurred.
Property After Elmore County Release
The jail documents a narrow property-release rule while someone remains incarcerated. The person in custody must sign a property-release form naming a recipient. Deputies release it only to that named person after positive identification. This should not be expanded into a claim about every item issued at the end of custody.
County Support Services issues identification cards at 125 South 5th East in Mountain Home from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, excluding holidays. The county says Glenns Ferry issuance is temporarily unavailable. These details can help with post-release planning, but current hours should be checked before travel.

Begin with the last known custodian. Elmore County Jail, IDOC, BOP, and ICE each answer a different question. The official county roster was down during research, so absence from it proves nothing. The correct path combines a current check, a custody event, a court record, and the historical record when needed.

IDOC Elmore County Release Search
The IDOC Resident/Client Search covers Idaho prison residents, people on IDOC parole or probation, and retained names of people whose state sentence was satisfied. It does not cover every Elmore County bond release. Search by last name and optional first name, or by IDOC number. At least two last-name characters or three IDOC digits may be used.

Elmore County Recent Release Gap
Elmore County publishes no verified 24-hour or 72-hour released-person feed. The jail page instead says its roster is down and directs users to call. No official release window, fields, photo flag, update cadence, archive, or retention interval can be claimed. The Elmore County 24-hour release list explains the immediate fallback without presenting a live roster as release history.
The Sheriff's iOS app lists press releases, most wanted information, tips, and contact tools. Its store description does not document inmate lookup, release lists, or booking photographs. It is an official news and contact channel, not verified release proof.
iCourt Elmore County Release Clues
The official iCourt tutorial instructs users to search party names as Last, First. Reversing the order can produce no result. For similar names, compare the case number, location, charge degree, and year of birth. Open the register of actions rather than trusting a short search result.
A release order or bond action explains legal authority. Jail records or a VINE event establish completed processing. Sealed material, adult shielding, spelling variants, and older case formatting can all explain a gap. The official Smart Search view illustrates why the docket must be read as a sequence.
That chronology can corroborate an outcome without being mistaken for a jail exit timestamp.
Elmore County Post-Release Supervision
State and county supervision are separate. IDOC District 4 has a Mountain Home satellite for state parole and probation. County Justice Services handles Adult Misdemeanor Probation. A live IDOC detail may identify the status, Released to Supervision date, district, officer, and phone. “In community” does not mean the sentence is complete.

Getting Home After Elmore Release
The county's 2021 resource manual lists Treasure Valley Transit and Mountain Home Community Transit at 208-463-9111, with city and Air Force Base routes. The dated manual does not prove a jail stop, a current schedule, night or weekend service, or a ride supplied by the jail.
Treat the service only as a planning lead. Confirm the route and operating time directly before relying on it. The only published jail meeting point is the lobby for the bonding party after processing ends.
Elmore County Federal Release Checks
Federal custody has three paths. BOP Locator covers federally sentenced people and may show “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” with a date. That status is limited to BOP. USMS generally handles federal pretrial custody, but it has no comparable public historical person locator. Use the federal docket and direct case channel for that stage.
ICE records make the transfer issue local. Inspection reports say Elmore County Jail opened in 1990, began housing ICE detainees in 2009 through an ERO Salt Lake City and USMS arrangement, and was inspected in 2023 and 2024. A person who leaves local display may enter immigration custody rather than the community.
ICE ODLS accepts an exact A-number with country of birth or exact biographical details. ICE says it includes current detainees and people released from ICE custody within the prior 60 days. Search promptly. A no-result screen cannot prove release, removal, or absence from custody.

Elmore County Release Systems
Elmore County Jail is the local booking point, and its records office documents community release or transfer. Idaho Department of Correction facilities use the statewide client search for custody, supervision, and discharge. Federal Bureau of Prisons facilities cover sentenced federal custody, while ICE detention uses ODLS for current and recent immigration custody.
Mountain Home police and other arresting agencies may place people in the county jail, but the research does not identify them as separate long-term release facilities. The Elmore jail's federal contract role does not turn every local booking into a federal case. Classify the last custody first, then follow that agency's record.
